We’ve been hard at work the this quarter and wanted to post some highlights of what we’ve been up to as well as what we’re working on for the upcoming quarter. We’ve got big things ahead of us at Atheris Entertainment and we’re super excited to share them with you.
Our first co-published graphic novel funded on Kickstarter in May. We’re proud to be working with ARF Studios on Tokyo Rose: Zero Hour. Tokyo Rose is a graphic novel based upon the incredible true story of Iva Toguri, a Japanese American who was convicted of treason when she returned from visiting family in Japan. Tokyo Rose was written by the talented Andre Frattino (author of Simon Says) with beautiful artwork drawn by Kate Kasenow (artist of Form of a Question).
Though Tokyo Rose: Zero Hour was our first co-published project in the graphic novel/comic book space we’re excited to continue growing this division of the company. We love comic books. We’re currently evaluating a few comic submissions and will surely have more information and growth for our publishing division in Q4 of 2019.
Ore is a 60-90 minute worker placement game for 2-5 players. Ore: The Mining Game is a co-published project with Quick Simple Fun Games. The game is in production. This quarter QSF has been working on getting everything finalized and approved for manufacturing. We cannot wait to see QSF deliver the game to backers!
Ruins of Mars is a 1.5-2 hour medium weight strategy game for 2-4 players. This quarter we finished game development. We’re working on the graphic design and then the game will be heading to Kickstarter September 24th. This project is going to be phenomenal. We cannot wait to get this game out to the world. People are going to love it – we surely do! Follow along as the Kickstarter page gets updated.
This quarter we’ve also had Sebastian hard at work completing the graphic design for White Elephant. Michael Mihealsick did a great job designing this fun 3-8 player gem. White Elephant plays in 20-30 minutes. We’re pitching the game to retailers now and may be doing a Kickstarter campaign in the coming months.
We’ve been ramping up our Kickstarter consulting. We’ve been fortunate enough to fund several projects and believe our insights are valuable. We really enjoy assisting new creators with funding their dreams. We’ve seen first hand the amazing benefits of crowdfunding for creators, but we’ve also experienced the stress, made the mistakes and learned along the way. Working with an experienced creator is massively beneficial for a new creator or even a creator who realizes having a larger, experienced team can drive better results.
That’s all for now!
Until Next Time, The Atheris Entertainment Team
