HELLO FANS AND FRIENDS OF ATHERIS,

We’ve been hard at work the this quarter and wanted to post some highlights of what we’ve been up to as well as what we’re working on for the upcoming quarter. We’ve got big things ahead of us at Atheris Entertainment and we’re super excited to share them with you.

First off, we had to change the name of our quarterly updates. “Making Games & Taking Names” no longer makes as much sense now that we’re working on non-board game related projects as well. We’re renaming our quarterly updates “The Epitome of Entertainment.” We’ll see if that sticks – who knows?

Our Publishing Division

Tokyo Rose: Zero Hour

We’re co-publishing our first graphic novel project with our friends at ARF Studios. Tokyo Rose: Zero Hour is a graphic novel based upon the incredible true story of Iva Toguri, a Japanese American who was convicted of treason when she returned from visiting family in Japan.

Tokyo Rose was written by the talented Andre Frattino (author of Simon Says) with beautiful artwork drawn by Kate Kasenow (artist of Form of a Question).

Tokyo Rose is heading to Kickstarter April 2nd at 11am EST. We hope to see you there! Follow the embedded link to check out the preview page for the campaign!

Our Gaming Division

SUPERNATURAL SOCKS

Supernatural Socks is a 15-30 minute set collection game for 2-4 players. Supernatural Socks is in distribution. Ask your friendly local gaming store to pick up a copy!

Ore: The Mining Game

Ore is a 60-90 minute worker placement game for 2-5 players. It is a collaboration with Quick Simple Fun Games. We’re super excited to work with them on it. The game is in production. We cannot wait to see it delivered to backers!

Ruins of Mars

Ruins of Mars is a 1.5-2 hour medium weight strategy game for 2-4 players. This quarter, the same as last, we’re working on game development. Sen-Foong Lim and Scott Veenvliet are doing a great job on the development. Don Riddle created an excellent game, which Sen and Scott have refined to be even better. This process takes time. Though there has been a delay in the schedule as soon as development is finished we’ll just have to put the finishing touches and then we’ll be ready for Kickstarter. This project is going to be phenomenal. We cannot wait to get this game out to the world. People are going to love it – we surely do! The original timeline was March, but we’re looking like it may be May-June instead. You cannot rush perfection.

White Elephant

We’ve been hard at work on the artwork for White Elephant. We have the incredibly talented Rocio Ognenovich completing the artwork and her husband, Sebastian Koziner, is working on the graphic design. This quarter we expect to get some more of the artwork completed. All we have left is the box cover final details. We’ll likely be launching the game later in 2019.

Kickstarter Consulting

We’ve been ramping up our Kickstarter consulting. We’ve been fortunate enough to fund several projects and believe our insights are valuable. We really enjoy assisting new creators with funding their dreams. We’ve seen first hand the amazing benefits of crowdfunding for creators, but we’ve also experienced the stress, made the mistakes and learned along the way. Working with an experienced creator is massively beneficial for a new creator or even a creator who realizes having a larger, experienced team can drive better results.

Projects with Quick Simple Fun

Quick Simple Fun Games has been a great partner for Atheris. We really enjoy working together and love their portfolio of games. They have a lot of exciting things coming up and we’re happy to be working with them on their projects.

We’re working with Quick Simple Fun on art direction and Kickstarter management for their upcoming titles, Freight Cars and Squirrelin’ Around. Here’s some of the cool artwork we’ve received so far:

Cage Match

We’ve been working with John Lash at Geektopia Games on their upcoming title, Cage Match. John was fortunate to work with Sebastian Koziner for graphic design and Sebastian’s wife, Rocio Ogñenovich, for artwork. The game has a great presentation and a unique MMA fighting theme. Be on the lookout for the campaign coming soon.

That’s all for now!

Until Next Time,

The Atheris Entertainment Team
